Accessibility

Accessibility Policy

The Coyote Twin complies with the American Disabilities Act by providing physical accessibility, assistive devices and technologies, gender-inclusive restrooms, clear communication, and equitable business model.

Physical Accessibility
  • The Coyote Twin entrance is on-grade and covered by the marquee overhang.
  • The theater lobby is handicap accessible, and the paths of travel from the lobby to the auditoriums do not have steps.
  • Our auditoriums have an ADA-compliant ramp into the seating areas and easily accessed spots for wheelchairs among our fixed seats.
  • We have a fully ADA compliant restroom in the gallery attached to the theater lobby, and our north restroom has a comfort-height commode.
Restrooms

The Coyote Twin has three restrooms, all of which are single-occupancy and gender neutral. Two restrooms are located in the lobby, and an ADA compliant restroom is located just around the corner in the attached Coyote Gallery. The north lobby restroom (closest to the concessions counter) has a comfort-height commode and baby changing station.

Service Animals

The Coyote Twin makes known its policy regarding service animals with clear outdoor-facing signage, ensuring patrons are aware of their rights to bring service animals into the theater.

Non–service certified animals are prohibited.

Assistive Listening

The Coyote Twin is equipped with assistive listening devices for our patrons with visual or hearing impairment. We offer closed captioning, enhanced audio, and audio description in accordance with Title III of the ADA. This technology is compatible with all digital studio new releases and currently airing features. If you or your guest need service, please arrive in advance of the projected start time and ask our staff to set you up.

The Vermillion Cultural Association is grateful to the generous donors who helped provide this equipment to our community.

Communication

We welcome feedback on the theater’s accessibility via email support@vermilliontheaters.com or social media message.

Equitable Business Model
  • The Coyote Twin’s $7 Discount Thursday ticket price is an intentional business model that allows more equitable admissions.
  • Our $8 student ticket price is subsidized by the University of South Dakota as an incentive to college students to enjoy movies for a reasonable cost and spend some time off campus. USD Free Movie Fridays are ONLY select Fridays throughout the semester, as determined by the university, and are paid for by USD.
  • The theater collaborates with local businesses and organizations to provide free screenings of old favorites throughout the year, as well as movies associated with special events, educational purposes, or causes.
